As The Canopy Studio celebrates its 5th birthday, the agency continues to strengthen its commercial and strategic acumen with the arrival of Stuart Robertson, who joins us from Hampshire Cricket as Director of Commercial and Strategy.

Stuart is a highly experienced and successful Commercial Director recognised globally as the ‘creator’ of Twenty20 Cricket, and he arrives at a perfect moment in The Canopy’s continuing journey. From a founding team of three, over the past five years the studio has grown to a collective of 20 creative, commercial and collaborative souls, creating award-winning work for clients across graphic design, branding, video production and visual effects.

At The Canopy, we identified the need to bolster our client and strategy offering in order to reach into new sectors and make the most of our award-winning creative diversity. Stuart’s expertise and passions lie in the areas of strategy development, change management, customer insight and innovation.

Over 25 years operating at the highest levels of professional sport, Stuart has gained a wealth of experience right across the commercial and marketing landscape.  From insight to execution, and encompassing research, product development, brand development, communication, pricing, sales, client servicing and customer experience, Stuart will add a deeper commercial and strategic offer to The Canopy’s existing and new client base.

Stuart said “I am genuinely delighted to be joining Canopy after having worked with them on a number of projects in my last role at Hampshire Cricket. I have worked with many agencies over my career and would place The Canopy at the very top of the list…they blew me away with not only their creative talent but also their unique culture of collaboration.”

Marc Reeves, Creative Partner of The Canopy Studio said

“It’s been a year unlike any other, but despite the continuing challenges of Covid-19, we’ve seen another year of pitch wins, client and team growth, and have strong plans looking towards our future. The appointment of Stuart is integral to the success of those plans, as we look to enhance our exceptional creative talents with Stuart’s wealth of commercial, strategic and marketing experience. We’re all excited about the skills and innovative approach Stuart and our other new members of the team will bring, and it signals a bright future for us and for our clients.”
